I'm actually having the same issue right now, but with my Glo HD. Completely froze when I unplugged it after charging (I was doing all the troubleshooting tips as per Kobo for frozen screens and I was following the charge for 4 hours powered off step then). I connected it to my computer, left it alone for around 15 minutes or so while I spoke with a representative, tried turning it on, and it responded. Maybe that could help you.
I asked the rep if I should do a factory reset and he suggested doing so. I'm doing it now and if I still encounter the problem, he said to let them know and they will see if a replacement is possible.
