I went with:

More than 300ppi resolution
Waterproof
Solar-power option
Non-shatter (plastic/metal) screen substrate
Speakers and/or Microphone
Text-to-Speech

All I personally need though is waterproof because I spend a lot of time out in the weather. Waterproof and flexible substrate would be great.
