This may be a new change at Amazon, try running the 'hotfix' -

If MrPI can't run (it probably can't) -
then put the hotfix update in the visible root of usb storage and try the 'update my kindle' menu choice.
(Amazon just stepped on Geekmaster also - he will not let that slide unless he has changed a lot.
