The joy of public crowdfunding sites is that you really aren't obligated to deliver.

On Kickstarter, there is no contractual obligation to deliver. You give your money to help the project in the hopes that you get the 'rewards'.

I'm not sure how Indiegogo works, but since they have the 'I get to keep the money you've pledged even if I don't hit my goal' option, I assume they have the same level of not having to deliver.
