The need to re-install add-ins is not relevant to that decision since MrPI will re-install every update_*.bin you want with one touch of its button.
(I.E: It
isn't time consuming any longer.)
Anything installed by un-packing an archive is not effected by an Amazon update (such as KUAL and MrPI).
There are only two groups of decision making:
"Bragging Rights" : Always install most recent update, on first day.
"If it isn't broke, don't fix it." : Leave it alone if it is working.
Or, in the case of Amazon Kindles, a third - toe the company line:
"I only own the device, Amazon still owns the behavior" : Let them do whatever they will without my knowledge or approval with a forced OTA update.
