I would start fresh on your Tab (empty Library).
1) Connect as a Wireless Device. Let Calibre do a Sync Scan
1b?) (can take some time for the first connect. Once scanned, configure the device driver to limit where it looks for books.)
2) Select a group of books not larger than 500 and 'Send to Device' for best 'success' performance
2b) repeat step 2 as needed

Hello and Thank you very much to both of you, Theducks and Chaley.
I am trying the process described by Theducks and have cleared my library on the tablet, as well as the references to it in the parameters of CC.
I've then connected the tablet as Wireless device, after having started the wireless connexion in the Main Calibre menu (on the PC).
An icon appears in the main menu (next tothe library icon) showing my device.
You tell me then to let Calibre do a Sync scan. How do I do this ?I can not find a place with such a menu. Is this dona automatically ? If yes, how do I know it has been done properly, so that I can proceed to next step ?
Chaley : As you suggest, I thought about using CC as the Library manager, but I can't reverse the process and start from my tablet on. To answer your question, I'm not using the cloud.
CC itself shows the wrong author name and title, for most of the pdf articles (it shows always my name as the autor and the same title ("Les bases de la photographie"), although both author and title are correctly shown in the main Calibre Library Manager.
Thus, unless the recommandation of Theducks finaly works and solve entirely my issue, I'll need to have information on how to get calibre to update metadata in the book.
I hope this additional information is clear enough for you both to keep on helping me until I manage to solve the issue.
Thnk you again to both of you.
