I read his Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series back when it first came out. I remember that it was really good and really depressing. It was one of the few series that I thought was good that I couldn't bring myself to re-read (though I might give it a shot since it's been a long time since I read them). I keep meaning to give the Shadowmarch series a try.
