I contacted Amazon support and they were able to register the updated ones at their end, but the Kindle would not recognize that they were registered unless at 5.3.9.

I've been able to force it to redo the 5.3.9 update and see that it again will register, but will not register if either the 5.4.4.2 or 5.6.1.1 updates are performed.

Any ideas?
The registration info file changed its format with 5.6.x
But that is an Amazon change, they should be able to handle it.
