On my laptop both plugins are green.

Calibre has always been set up like this, it's only from this week that Calibre on my laptop doesn't see my SDCard.

I checked on hubbys laptop, which does see the SDCard inside the Kobo, and that is set up in the same way as mine, both the Kobo Touch and the Kobo Touch extended plugins are green. He is running Claibre 2.5.3 same as me.
This is one of those cases where 'just because I was getting away with ignoring directions' does not indicate that you can continue to expect it to work.

If all else fails, try following the directions
