Thanks Anemicoak I think the cheap laptop PC is the way I will do it. All other options seem to lead to a dead end.
I don't need anything more powerful since its only for Overdrive audiobooks.
My desk top iMac works fine for all of my simple needs. It also works fine for downloading the overdrive audiobooks Its just not in the room I need it to be in and its not very portable.
