In the garden apartment complex I lived in back in the 80s, the parking lot was behind the building. For about 7 years I parked in the space immediately behind my apartment, in line with my deck and rear entrance.

Then the guy in the upstairs apartment got caught cheating and his wife left him. She was a nurse with early hours, so she had been parking at the back of the lot, lined up with the exit. His girlfriend moved in, she took "his" space, and he took "my" space -- reserving it by leaving the snow plow attachment to his pickup truck there when he was out.

I knew I would be leaving in a year, so I took his wife's old spot. It wasn't too inconvenient, and I did get out quicker in the morning.

Still, jerks are jerks. It's a waste of time talking to some people.
It would almost have been worth buying a snow plow attachment even if you didn't have a truck so you could have parked your attachment next to his in the space.
