Unless they are businesses or collectors, or people filling in their "last month's purchase" (and not buy as much or anything the rest of the year), it's a bit hard to believe...

Ahh, but buying 20+ books a month doesn't neccesarily mean you're reading 20+ books a month.

And if you have the time, it's perfectly possible to read that much in a month - the books I have by Simon Brett or Alexander McCall-Smith, for example, only take a couple of hours each to read.
