Just finished The Case of the Counterfeit Eye by Erle Stanley Gardner. This 1935 novel was the sixth Mason book and the first one in which Hamilton Burger makes his appearance. In real life, the courtroom stunt he pulled in this one would have certainly got him disbarred, but at least no one caught him planting evidence, which he also did in this book. One of the most fun Perry Mason books, and a re-read for me. The next book in the series is The Case of the Caretaker's Cat (1935),l but since I've already read that one, I just downloaded the eighth book in the series, The Case of the Sleepwalker's Niece (1936). I don't know when I'll get to it, though, as I'm still finishing up Dante's Divine Comedy and trying to whittle down my TBR list a bit.
