No, it wasn't the BBC's Shostakovich track with the sound quality problem, it was the Alexander Street "Classical Music Library Free Download of the Week" - Symphony No.4 by Gustav Mahler.

(As it happens, the piece with the audio problem, the fourth movement, is the only movement of the symphony with voice, so depending on your personal taste....)
