No problems here. I've been experimenting for the last week or so with doing daily factory resets on my Nook HD+ (as you do) and they all worked perfectly. This included ones on the 15th & 16th and one of the non-Oobe specials on the 18th and so far all is working. Whether any of the update procedures, normal or non-Oobe will still work after May 31st is anyone's guess but at the moment all is OK. I will stop resetting long before the offending date but at the moment I am just trying all the different launchers on the Play Store.

An interesting point about NOT using the normal registration process is that the crap Crossword 'game' is not installed on the device. You still get the equally crappy Moby Dick but not having the poxy Crosswords is a definite improvement and seems to prove that the alternative update IS, in fact, different.
