I learned that Classical-music.com, the official website of the BBC Music Magazine, offers a free download each week.

This week's free download is "Love" from Shostakovich's "Suite on Poems by Michelangelo."

Quoting David Nice from the March issue of the BBC Music Magazine, the website says that "Russian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky manages to combine 'dark timbre with an emotional warmth'.

After you've set up an account (your name and the selection of a password is about all that there is to getting it), you can go to this webpage and click on the "download now" button on top of the track's thumbnail image in order to get the freebie.
