Hi to All,
I have been following this thread:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=232883
However, it no longer seems very much visited, so I thought I would start another post to ask my question about adding dictionaries. Should any of the moderators think this post would better placed elsewhere, that would be fine by me.
I am a novice to modifying Kobo customware and would like the advice of some of the very competent people who contributed to the above thread. I don't feel confident enough to "experiment" without more knowledgeable advice.
I want to add some custom dictionaries to my Kobo Glo HD.
As I understand it, I cannot add a second dictionary of the same type. For example, if I wish to have a second Spanish to English dictionary, I cannot simply call it something like this:
dicthtml-es-en.zip1 or dicthtml-1es-en.zip or something similar.
I would very much appreciate it if someone could confirm that this is impossible with the present firmware.
I don't want to replace the original Kobo dictionary, which is quite satisfactory but to add another one that will provide answers when the Kobo dictionary doesn't.To solve the problem, I am thinking of adding another Spanish to English dictionary but would call it something like this:
dicthtml-sp-en.zip
Would this work and show up in the dictionary list when I look up a word inside the book I'm reading ?
Otherwise, I could use the name of a completely different language, preferably non-European, such as Tagalog or Guarani. However I don't know the letters that would work in this formula. They would, I suppose, have to correspond to a real language used by Kobo. The disadvantage is that, if this worked, I would have to know that the second Spanish to English dictionary would be recognized as a Tagalog to English dictionary by my Kobo.
Any tips for suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Rojofo.
