An important consideration is that we say phones, but I would say 4,5 inches, 5 inches eink ereaders, that outside being small ereaders are also telephone, phablets etc. The fact than then the phone has a disruptive battery life and can be read under the sun, should be secondary, if we consider this forum.
So the point is an ereader addict, would consider an all in one device, even considering the added value synergies of the eink, lcd technology?

Perhaps the big players are not launching similar products because they do not consider an ereader-cum-phone market more lucrative than android phones.
For an ereader addict, this product may not be comparable to a real front lit 6" eInk reader, but may certainly be useful to people who travel a lot and do not like to carry too many gadgets and chargers. This type of product would prove to be a good secondary reader for them, IMHO. Besides, from a phone point of view, I believe this product shall give a good week long battery backup if used on eInk screen only. This will be an added advantage for android users like me, who use their phones for calling and call receiving only, not playing games or any other battery unfriendly activities,

which deserve a more frequent battery charging.
