I'm fond of reading outdoors so it's actually a big deal to me that e-ink is good in sunlight. I often read at night but if I'm up later than DH, a booklight is simple to clip on and I find the light more pleasant than the backlit screen.

Still, my HTC-6800 is way easier to hold one handed. Sadly my battery runs down fast and then I don't have a phone.
