Yes, right under the tip. I don't hold my pen vertically (that would be very uncomfortable) but at a 30-45° angle (or about). My hand is lower as the pen as the pen is orientated north-west (if that makes any sense to you) at a, as I said, 30 to 45 deg angle to the display.

I have been using it extensively since I bought it for writing and drawing sketches and I am very satisfied with it. I actually think it's much better at handling the pen than my Note 8 was.

If the pointer is not just under the tip on yours, and you have the january update, then something is wrong with the pen or at least with the calibration of it on your tablet. Or, stupid idea maybe, the battery ?

Did you buy the bundle or the tablet and the pen separately ? Although that should not make any difference, I bought a second pen to be safe and it works exactly like the one I got in the bundle.
