alright, so just install "K5 JailBreak (5.0.x - 5.4.4.2)" and let the kindle update online to the most recent version?

I used advanced search to look here, everything that mentions parental controls, either doesn't have anything to do with disabling them, or they show a way to factory reset..

kindle support says to enter a special password that factory resets the kindle...

forums suggest deregistering it from amazon.com and reregistering it on the kindle... I did that, parental controls disappeared when I deregistered, when I registered they showed up again...
