Not really. Copyright law doesn't apply, because the expression is too short to be copyrightable. You were perhaps thinking of trademark law, which may apply, assuming 1) Irex has trademarked the name Irex and/or Iliad in the jurisdiction that Pitchfork runs the site from or aims the site at, and 2) Pitchfork clearly uses the name to make money with, or tries to confuse visitors into thinking that his is an actual Irex site.
Having said that, the bigger danger is ICANN/Verisign/whoever, who are all a bunch of #@!**#!s, and who will take your domain name in a New York second if lawyers can convince them that big business is being "hurt".
