Well-bred = snotty. The kind of folk who'd drown in a rainstorm. Or the kind of bookstore clerk who berates you for buying what you like. (One of the under-appreciated virtues of online shopping is not dealing with those "book loving" clerks.)
Anti-intellectual = genre readers. The kind of rabble who don't read what the well-bred tell them to read.
