Hello everyone!

I have a new issue and hope you can help me again.

I have downloaded a story from potionsandsnitches: A Soldier Without a Purpose
It downloaded well, but once I transferred it onto my ebook reader (Sony PRS-T1) I got this: story cover, front page (with summary, tags, etc.), then the story starts - that's standard. What is unusual is that the text shows like this:

Spoiler:
Chapter 1: A Soldier Without a Purpose

“Class dismissed,” Severus Snape hissed from between gritted teeth, standing rigidly behind his desk.
(many blank lines)
(pagebreak)

“Please fetch Headmistress McGonagall, immediately,” Severus forced out. (...)
(then it goes without a hitch until)
And even if he could find someone willing to overlook his rather shady past and hire him, what could he do with his legs and hands betraying him?
(many blank lines)
(pagebreak)

McGonagall gave him a tiny smile. “Yes, I believe that Harry Potter would work quite well. He has actually already agreed to help you. And he has informed me that he would be available over the summer, should you desire it.”
(many blank lines)
(pagebreak)

Severus shook his head mutely, and she nodded, then left through a gap in the curtains. (...)

I didn't look how far this goes on. There seems to be an odd spacing between the paragraphs throughout the story, though - like a double line-break, instead of a single one.

When I open the story in calibre, I can see the whole text, although again with the odd spacing.

My FFF settings have 'intelligent punctuation' checked (the setting above 'Calculate Word Count').

I have know this issue from stories which I downloaded from walkingtheplank.org (that was about two or three years ago). I don't remember clearly what I did then, but I think that it was okay usually, when I downloaded them a second time (by overwriting? not sure). I can't say which stories those were, though.

Is this an issue of my Sony? Or is it something that Calibre/FFF can help solve? I hope you can help me again. Thank you!
