It's perhaps worth noting that the adaptive light setting on the Voyage "learns" your preferences. You can manually adjust the brightness up or down from the initial automatic settings, and it will learn from that what your preferred brightness level is. I would at least give it a go before disabling the automatic setting: it works pretty well.
