Anyway, I understand that the Voyage light is "adaptive" and that it sets the level automatically based on the ambient light. My question is, can this adaptive feature be overridden or turned off and the brightness set manually? I tend to set the screen brightness of my phones and tablets lower than most people I know and I'm guessing that the automatic setting may be brighter than what I would like.
Thanks!

Yes! You can disable it. It's the little tick above the biggest sun in the picture, to the right (and the same can be done with the "buttons" to turn pages).
Even more, if you have the auto brightness on, but you prefer to lower the light, the kindle will remember that configuration and next time will "auto" set it to that level. The con is Amazon has not implemented a reset button (something a lot of users are asking for). Once set, the voyage will always go to that preferred level in that certain lightning enviroment, unless you modify it again.
PS: hope i was somewhat clear. sorry about my english!
