Wikipedia is proxied through Amazon's servers.
To connect to Amazon's servers means letting the Kindle find out it isn't registered.

It is possible there are *some* safe IPs to let through, and Amazon's Wikipedia proxy doesn't leak your registration fakery, but if that is so no one has ever investigated and found out.

You could write a custom Kindle Touch ACX which runs off your own server.
