Thanks for this info. I stopped using mobi and started using azw3 again. I solved my problems with bad formated epub's (resulting in a not working font selection on the kindle if I converted to azw3) by inserting a publisher font. Somehow this solves the font problem in the whole azw3 file, so I can enjoy FONT_RAMP again with the standard amazon fonts (which are fine for me). Only "problem" is it increased the size of the files due to the imported publisher font, but I have only a few books on my Kindle at the moment, so that's fine.
