Would it be possible to have the "Author Name Variants" functionality support regular expressions, and/or specify a different field to use to get the author used for searching? I like to label non-author people who end up in the Author field with some sort of tag in brackets (e.g. "Adams, John Joseph [editor]"), but I now realize that almost none of those are getting matched correctly in Overdrive searches. Specifying a variant name in the plugin for each of those (e.g. "Adams, John Joseph [editor] & Adams, John Joseph") would be a huge pain, but if we could do a regex substitution to apply to each author before the search (e.g. "s/ \[.*\]//"), that would be much easier. Alternatively, if we could specify a different source field to use then I could create a saved bulk edit that populates that field with the "stripped" author, and just run that bulk edit before each time that I ran an Overdrive lookup.
