It is indeed. Glenda the Bunny is a creation of Brooklyn cartoonist Renee French. I saw it, and said "A mascot created by an NYC artist, for a cool open source OS project that draws its name from what is arguably the worst SF film ever made. What's not to like?" and adopted it for use in places like this.

Glenda joins the Linux penguin, BSD daemon, and Go language gopher in the tiny clan of software mascots.
