The Apple chargers of the new generation use a differential voltage of the data lines if they want to provide 1000mA instead of 500mA.
This is accomplished via internal resistors or resistor arrays.
Shorting the data lines in the bigger plug (USB type A) with a conductive foil of any origin (I think now of cigarettes package seal foil

) will make any stubborn, shrew Apple charger to charge any Android or any other gear that observes the USB-charging guidelines.
But as I said, the first charger one would look for is not the Apple but the Sony. If this is expensive, then a generic one will be probably the next target. Why paying 50€ when the next corner shop sells them for 3€, cable included?
