Have you tried to get help from the author of the article you are following or the site which hosts the article?
With what result?
Have you tried following the directions in the output you posted?
Code:
INFO:eink initialized... (786432 bytes)
Press [ENTER] for recovery menu... 0
INFO:!!! Checking MBR /dev/mmcblk0 !!!!
Have you checked this site for the step-by-step for using the recovery menu to install the missing 'main' operating system?
Keep in mind that you want to first install a 'main' system version old enough to use our PW-1 software jailbreak.
Don't jump directly to 5.6.1.1 version.
Getting older than current firmware packages from Amazon is a FGA -
Use the desired PW-1 firmware version number in these (PW-2 Example) directions:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...postcount=1301
Use the recovery menu to export the USB drive (USB drive mode) -
Place desired Amazon firmware package on root of drive -
Reboot -
done.

PS: You did not need to open the PW-1 or install a serial port to un-demo it.
The required commands are available in the main search bar -
There is a recent thread here on the subject, the summary:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...29&postcount=6
Read posts #6 ... #10
They include information you will need in the above directions.
