The only thing that sticks out is that books are being stored on an SD card in a non CC-private folder (/storage/external_SD/My Files/...). In theory that folder should not be writable and shouldn't work. There were no attempts to connect/transfer/delete in that debug log, so I couldn't see what CC would think.

Have you rooted this device? Did you set the storage folder to be /storage/external_SD/My Files/... using CC's Formats and Folders option on the lollipop machine?
