Well, no, the hardware is most certainly 64bit, and this excerpt from the log file should prove it: "32bit process
running on 64bit windows".
I am the opposite of an IT guru, so apologies if what follows is crap, but either the Calibre version I'm running thinks my laptop is a 32bit Win10, or the Calibre version I've downloaded and installed is for a 32bit Win OS, or... what?
EDIT: yes, my fault entirely, the software update icon connected me to the download of a 32bit version of the software. After downloading the right version the plugin worked just fine
