Software, firmware or what?

Glo is on 3.15 whatever the last numbers of that build were.

The screen is acting strangely. It's hard to turn a page - like the pressure sensors aren't working. Try to go back, it will go back 2 or 3 pages, the same with forward.

Put it into sleep mode yesterday, today it opened with the wrong book, and didn't want to connect to its library. Turned it off and on got the book I was reading.

Wifi is off, has been off since the last 3.15 update - so nothing has been able to sneak on as malware.

Is this the hardware for the screen? or is the software buggy now?

I just bought a new book from Kindle (Kobo doesn't have it) and converted via Calibre. The book displays just fine so it doesn't look like converting newer books causes the problem. Most of my other books are from Creative Commons, or Smashwords and its ilk. Will buy from Baen.

No, I haven't hacked it. Too lazy. I'm also not connected with Kobo reader on the PC. I've renamed the exe file so it won't run, but haven't uninstalled it. I go directly to the card through Calibre.
