And, my schedule is still too unpredictable to start a "proper" book, so I'm still reading shorter pieces when and where I can. Two of the ones I've read so far deserve special mention -- A Girl in Every Universe, by Terry McGarry, and Scream If You Wanna Go Faster, by Wade Beauchamp.
A Girl in Every Universe was a fast paced and very funny short story of alternate universes, plots and evil twins. It was an old Fictionwise purchase and, unfortunately, it does not appear to be available in ebook form from anyone else.
Scream If You Wanna Go Faster was the story of a 1963½ Ford Galaxie 500 XL as it passes down through various owners, misadventures and restorations over the next 100 years. Not an entirely original concept, but well done. I did especially enjoy the segment that covers the last adventure in the Ford's "life", several decades from now. (As befitting a story about a early 60s road yacht with a big back seat, several of the segments are very "adult" in nature.)
And now, back to some selected shorts.
