The only reader sofftware that syncs everywhere, and I mean across laptops, phones, and even an E-Ink reader, is the Kindle. You can email your own personal documents and get them to sync as well.


Google Play Books allows uploading personal documents and syncing, and it has Android, iOS, and Chrome Webstore apps.

Bluefire reader has Android and iOS apps, and Windows desktop software as well. I think it can sync last page read.

The trick is to find an application that is supported on all the platforms you use. It will use the same format for storing annotations everywhere, and sometimes it implements the syncing as well.
