The Vile Desire to Scream: A Novella by Irish author Oisín McGann (ISFDB, Wikipedia) is a tie-in story to his Wildenstern Saga of YA Victorian alternate history steampunk fantasy, free courtesy of publisher Open Road Media.

According to the author's website, this slots chronologically between the 1st and 2nd novels but can be read standalone, and is being made free to promote the recently-released 3rd-in-series.

Currently free @ B&N (also UK), Amazon (available to Canadians & in the UK), Kobo & iTunes & Google Play (all available to Canadians), as well as directly @ the author's website (DRM-free in multiple formats available worldwide).

A previous Open Road freebie by the same author, in one of his YA sci-fi futuristic dystopias, is still available if you missed it earlier: Spoil the Kill

And this has been the (late!) selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.
