I can click Library and then click Books but that doesn't fix this problem.
Can you click on a list view?
You get titles not covers.
Let me turn on my kobo.
Go to books, then tap the menu. Under options tap display.
There you should have "covers and text", "covers only", "text only".
I have covers and text checked.

Mine is an older kobo.
Ripp's idea looks easier.
