We had a fully touchscreen universal remote several years ago - a Phillips Pronto. We found that for watching TV it's really, really annoying to always have to look down at the remote to see what you're pressing. Hard buttons are much better for common tasks. That's why we've got a Harmony Ultimate remote now - the best of both worlds.

That's not to say the Sony remote doesn't look cool of course...
