If you didn't get through Amazon but by a Amazon merchant it sounds like one of the many counterfeit cases going around. I'd contact Amazon and report the merchant. If you got it through Amazon directly or it was fulfilled by Amazon it falls under Amazon's return policy and you just return it through Amazon and wont have to pay anything because it's defective.
