I have an epub file of a book that gave unusual results when I tried to convert to AZW3.

The book showed no problems when I ran the check in Calibre editor except one non-linear item. The file structure seems normal - one xhtml file per chapter (60 ish), one css file. It reads normally in the Calibre Reader.

When I ran the conversion to AZW3 I ended up with a book that has one html file for each paragraph in the text files and for each line from the xhtml file that has a table of contents listed in it(2,490 files!).
On my Kindle this gave me a paragraph per page. Dire when there is dialogue. The Calibre Editor check also gave me 50 invalid ids.

To test it I also did an epub to epub conversion. The same result as the epub to AZW3, one file per paragraph etc. (Same for epub to mobi)

Has anybody any ideas why this is happening and how to get a readable AZW3 book?

Other epub to AZW3 conversions after this problem have worked perfectly.
