I just learned that a company called Alexander Street offers a free classical music download of the week from their Classical Music Library.
The one at this moment is HectorBerlioz's
Symphonie Fantastique. There are 5 tracks with a total time of about 53 minutes. It's available as an mp3 or wma4.
I had never heard of HectorBerlioz. But I downloaded the
Symphonie and have been listening to it for the last few minutes. I must say, I am impressed with the compositions.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to be notified when there's a new download of the week, unless you are associated with some kind of institution. So you'll need to manually check the site each week if you're interested. Here's
the download webpage.
