The way I look at books (especially new authors) as potential dates.
Will you even get lunch? Don't tell me I be the perfect mother for your future children before you even know my name. (Yes, I heard that line once. No first date there.)
Will that lunch be cut short because our types clash? (Never let your stepmother set you up on a blind date.)
Will it turn into a one night stand? (Nice but only once thank you.)
Or will it turn into a nice long love affair? (Very few get that far.)
Both in books and actual relationships.
