It is very possible that the bug ensured that the books are not where you think they are. I suggest that you:
  • verify you are running V5.0.0.2.
  • run "Books with missing files" to be sure that CC finds the books where you think they are.
  • use Formats and Folders to re-establish the folder for both mobi and azw3.
  • look in book details for an azw3 book to be sure that its path is what you think it should be.
If after doing these three things you still cannot delete the azw3 book, please send me a debug log. I don't know what could be going wrong, but perhaps it will help.
You quoted the wrong post, so I wanted to make sure you read the one quoted above before I do anything else.
