Restart your device, it the update didn't already restart it.
That restart will re-install the jailbreak automagically.

You don't need to install the bridge, the JB procedure you followed already installed it, and it survives the Amazon update.

Just to save you some future puzzlement - -

Install: KUAL
Install: MrPI (Mobileread Package Installer, a KUAL extension).

You **MUST** use MrPI to install update_*.bin packages.
Putting them in the root of user storage no longer works.

Just put them in the /mrpackages directory (which will be created by the MrPI installation).
