Hi everyone at MobileRead, so I'm struggling to work out which would be the best option for me, I have a galaxy tablet which I have been reading books on but I am finding the screen is not ideal as it reflects lots of light when traveling on the bus.

I'm looking into buying my first ebook reader, as far as I can tell from the web is the kindle would be the best for me to go for.

I'm from the UK and can buy a second-hand kindle wifi 2011 £22 or kindle wifi 2012 for £30 or a brand new one from Amazon for £60.

Now to my questions,

1) has anyone had a second-hand kindle before, is there anything I should look out for?

2) is it worth spending the extra to buy a brand new one?

3) what current model is for sale? it doesn't say on the website.
