The picture of your soldering job shows several scorch marks around the area. It's possible that the circuit board and USB port is damaged beyond repair from overheating where you tried to solder it.
I would cut my losses with that reader and either get a used one with a broken screen to swap out, or get a new reader.

Thanks fo the answers. The thing is that I don't want to spend a lot of time for search and buy another one. Otherwise if buy buy one of the connector that you have linked to me I could recharge the Kobo from it?
