Not just English works. And when trying to get Ancient Greek working, I did get a lot of support!
If your epub-files are properly encoded in UTF-8 you will have no problem with other languages.
It supports as all languages of which you have installed dictionaries.
If you use pdf's you could also install Tesseract OCR traineddata files. It's dependent on the quality of those files, whether you can lookup words for
non-OCR-ed scans.
Place the traineddata-files in koreader/data/tessdata.
I tried getting support for Ancient Greek in koreader, but in the end had to settle for traineddata files for modern Greek. The ones for Ancient Greek generate a memory error.
Still, with the Stardict dictionary made for Ancient Greek and a properly formatted epub, you should be able to lookup word even for Ancient Greek.
