You are complaining that the decision by the developer that "swiping vertically changes chapters" is a bad decision.
But it isn't -- it is simply a different one.
And it makes NO SENSE to vertically change the page, so if it didn't switch chapters I would demand that it do nothing -- if the average Android/Windows ereader app has it turn the page, then the app is IMHO broken.
Given that you want to turn pages by tapping anyway, I cannot comprehend why you started this thread.
